This top-notch semi-shell helmet for children from the POC brand has many great features. Among the main ones is the size adjustment system, where the helmet "grows" together with the child.
The helmet is well ventilated, with ventilation also adjustable at will. All children's helmets POC POCito Fornix have bright colors, with which the child won't get lost on the snow, complemented by reflective elements.
The aim of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. Upon impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only a matter of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that could otherwise be transferred to the brain.
The RECCO® system works on the principle of radio waves, allowing rescuers to find you, for example, in case of an avalanche burial. This system does not need to be recharged.
Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
Thanks to The RECCO® Reflector you will be traceable for rescuers. It is a lightweight passive transponder that consists of a diode and an antenna. This chip system has been used by more than 150 brands of jackets, pants, backpacks, pads, helmets and many other equipment. The system does not wear out except in cases of physical damage and will last forever.
EPS is expanded polystyrene. It is a strong and rigid material with a cellular structure, composed of 2% polystyrene and the rest is air.
