What's new with this popular all-mountain/enduro fork?
The key change is the new damping oil cartridge referred to as Charger 2.1 in the RC2 version, allowing independent adjustment of high and low-speed compression and rebound. Rebound is typically controlled by turning the bottom of the right leg, and everything else on the crown.
The new damping cartridge gives the rider unparalleled control and precision over fork settings for both descents and climbs.
Another major change is new seals and wipers from the renowned manufacturer SKF, which, in conjunction with the newly developed oil Maxima Plush, ensure a significant reduction in stanchion friction, extending service intervals and the overall lifespan of the fork.
Last but not least, we have to mention the very clean design of the new Rock Shox forks, new robust Maxle Stealth axles, redesigned external magnesium legs, forged crowns, and new distinctive foil graphics. And the internal 35 mm stanchions with Fast Black coating.
The Charger 2.1 damping oil cartridge is an improved version of the previous cartridge. The improvements aim primarily at better traction control, eliminating hand fatigue and bushing friction. Both high and low speed compression has also been modified. The entire oil circuit has been modified and far less vibration or shock will be transmitted to the hands during hard braking.
Lightweight, highly tunable air chamber designed to offer a consistent feel similar to a coil spring throughout the stroke. It effortlessly absorbs the smallest bumps as well as sudden and large impacts.
Rock Shox's continued collaboration with Maxima Racing Oils has resulted in an improved oil, developed with leading experts in the field of performance lubrication. The oil is specially designed for the new Rock Shox fork range, where the aim was to create the perfect lubricant blend to keep your suspension fresher.
