The Puez Knit Powertex footwear is designed to provide maximum support, stability, and long-lasting comfort for versatile use – from city walks to demanding mountain hikes and technical trails in diverse terrain.
Its abrasion-resistant knitted nylon upper with a reinforced toe and full protective rubber rand offers high resistance to external influences. Thanks to the waterproof and breathable Powertex® membrane free of PFCs, feet stay dry even in adverse weather. The midsole Alpine Hemp, made from sustainable materials, contributes to comfort and ecological responsibility.
The model was developed according to circular manufacturing principles. The Alpine Hemp midsole under the forefoot combines recycled hemp textile waste and natural hemp, reducing the consumption of EVA material while conserving natural resources – without compromising performance. Even the laces are made from a combination of hemp and recycled polyester, emphasizing the sustainable character of the footwear.
The dual EVA midsole with graded stiffness provides an optimal balance between support and cushioning – softer cushioning in the heel area ensures comfort even during longer wear. The recycled customizable CFF insole and volume reducer allow individual adaptation to the shape of the foot and enhance overall comfort.
The Puez Knit Mid Powertex model uses the Pomoca™ Alpine Trekker outsole, which provides surefootedness, grip, and traction even in technical terrain. A key element of the construction is the Salewa Edging Plate II – a special thermoplastic reinforcement running the entire length of the shoe. It ensures a balanced combination of flexibility and stability, with different levels of stiffness in the forefoot and heel for targeted support while walking. The proven Salewa 3F system with Kevlar® cables guarantees stabilization of the midfoot, secure ankle support, and surefootedness even in challenging terrain. Climbing lacing all the way to the toe allows precise tightening and natural foot guidance.
This model is labeled as Salewa Committed, which means it meets the brand's strict criteria for sustainable and environmentally friendly production. The Puez Knit Powertex footwear thus combines top technical features with a responsible approach to nature.
The ideal choice for modern adventurers seeking both performance and sustainability.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
Difficult snowy rocky climbs with some sections of climbing in technical ice require reliable waterproof, windproof and abrasion resistant clothing. SALEWA® has developed its proprietary, highly robust Powertex CORDURA® fabric specifically for this purpose. Its 3-layer laminate construction ensures protection from the weather, while the ultrathin polyurethane (PU) membrane ensures that moisture from perspiration can escape. The outer layer is made from 94% CORDURA® (polyamide) high abrasion resistant nylon with 6% elastane for greater stretch and freedom of movement.
The Salewa 3F System connects the instep area of the shoe with the sole and heel, promoting flexibility, support and proper fit where needed.
The Salewa brand initiative, committed to a sustainable and ethical approach in all phases of its business. The program focuses on responsible resource management, environmental protection, and improving working conditions throughout the supply chain.
