Salewa Puez Winter Mid PTX W is a women's medium-cut trekking shoe designed for all-day comfort in varied terrain.
An abrasion-resistant, knitted Ripstop upper protects the shoes from scuffs. Additionally, it features a breathable Powertex membrane (PFC-free) for maximum air circulation.
The insole construction includes a Salewa Edging Plate II, a special thermoplastic frame that extends throughout the length of the shoe. It offers a combination of enhanced flexibility and rebound for long-lasting comfort during hiking, with specific levels of stiffness and flex in the forefoot and heel for targeted rigidity and increased stability.
The proven Salewa 3F system also ensures supportive ankle hold and midfoot stability. This is further enhanced by climbing lacing that extends to the toes.
Recycled materials are used in the production of the shoes, preserving resources and offering a sustainable perspective.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
Difficult snowy rocky climbs with some sections of climbing in technical ice require reliable waterproof, windproof and abrasion resistant clothing. SALEWA® has developed its proprietary, highly robust Powertex CORDURA® fabric specifically for this purpose. Its 3-layer laminate construction ensures protection from the weather, while the ultrathin polyurethane (PU) membrane ensures that moisture from perspiration can escape. The outer layer is made from 94% CORDURA® (polyamide) high abrasion resistant nylon with 6% elastane for greater stretch and freedom of movement.
The Salewa 3F System connects the instep area of the shoe with the sole and heel, promoting flexibility, support and proper fit where needed.
