Description

Santa Cruz V10 8 CC MX 27 frame kit in Gloss Liquid Blue is a downhill MTB for riders building a bike for racing or hard bike park use. It’s a high-performance frame kit built around carbon and the VPP™ suspension system. The package includes the frame kit and a Fox DHX2 Factory Coil shock.

Frame and geometry

The foundation is a carbon composite frame designated CC Carbon, designed for downhill use and heavy loads. The VPP™ suspension kinematics deliver 208 mm of rear travel and are matched to 200 mm of front travel. The wheel concept is a mullet MX setup with a 29" front wheel and a smaller rear wheel for better maneuverability in steep sections. The frame kit is available in sizes S, M, L, and XL, in Gloss Liquid Blue with a glossy finish.

The geometry can be fine-tuned without changing the frame thanks to the Reach Adjust Headset Cups. Steering feel and bottom bracket height can be adjusted using the Rear Axle Flip Chip and Lower Link Flip Chip. These features let you tailor both high-speed stability and agility in tight corners. The frame is designed for downhill components and a coil shock.

Components

Drivetrain: The frame kit is supplied without a drivetrain, so the choice of shifting group, cassette, and bottom bracket depends on the selected build. The design is aimed at downhill setups without a front derailleur.

Brakes: The braking system is not included with the frame kit. The frame is intended to be built with powerful hydraulic disc brakes for downhill.

Wheels and tires: The frame is designed for an MX configuration with a 29" front wheel and a smaller rear wheel. Specific rims, hubs, and tires are chosen based on track preferences and riding style.

Cockpit: The cockpit is not included and is selected according to the desired riding position length and handlebar width. The frame is built around downhill ergonomics and a low front-end height.

Ride characteristics

The CC carbon frame and downhill travel support high torsional stiffness and precise tracking through rough terrain. VPP™ helps maintain sensitivity to small bumps while still providing support in the mid-stroke when pumping. The mullet MX setup makes direction changes easier in tight sections and adds confidence at the front wheel at higher speed. The Fox DHX2 Factory Coil shock delivers consistent performance on long descents and under repeated big impacts.
