Shadow Original Model is a fundamental shoe in Saucony's history.
First released in 1985 as running shoes, they still excel in comfort and stability. The shoes feature mesh, nylon, and the renowned EVA foam. They have a reinforced TPU heel that provides additional support.
The rubber outsole ensures comfort. The EVA midsole absorbs shock and cushions. The mesh on the upper allows for pleasant breathability. The combination of mesh, suede, and nylon extends durability. The sole height is 1.9 cm. The platform has a 3.7 mm heel.
EVA, literally Ethylene-vinyl acetate is also known as Polyethylene-vinyl acetate i.e. PEVA. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, as the name suggests. The weight of the vinyl acetate component is in the range of 10 to 40% and the remainder is ethylene itself. Its physical properties is as an elastomeric polymer, i.e. a substance that excels in high elasticity. Thanks to its unique composition, it ranks among the most light yet flexible and soft materials.
