When the trail drops into a steeper section and you want the front wheel to stay calm and predictable, the right tire does more than just “add grip.” Schwalbe Eddy Current Front SuperG Addix Soft TL-Easy 29x2,40 is a front MTB tire built for confidence in corners, support under braking, and stability that also suits heavier bikes. In practice, that means less correcting your line and more focus on where you’re going.
Schwalbe Eddy Current Front is designed primarily for the front wheel, where line choice and control in demanding terrain matter most. The Addix Soft compound helps maintain traction on roots, rocks, and loose surfaces, so the front end is less likely to “wash out” when the terrain changes from hardpack to rough. The SuperG casing is aimed at increased tire stability and solid durability for harder hits and aggressive riding. And because it’s a tire with a kevlar bead, it’s typically more practical for handling and transport than wire-bead options.
This MTB tire is made for a 29-inch rim diameter, and in the 29x2,40 size it offers volume and support you’ll notice most at speed and in rough terrain. As a TL-Easy version, it’s ready for tubeless use, which can help reduce the risk of punctures and allow lower pressures for better ground contact. The Addix Soft compound focuses on traction and control, typically for enduro, trail, and more demanding e-MTB use. The Kevlar bead adds practicality and usually lower weight compared to a wire bead, which you’ll appreciate during installation and storage.
Schwalbe Eddy Current Front SuperG Addix Soft TL-Easy 29x2,40 is a front tire for riders who want a predictable line, confidence when leaning the bike over, and stable braking without unnecessary compromises. It fits well on modern trail and enduro bikes, including more powerful e-bikes, where the front tire really takes a beating.
