In gravel riding, the details often decide everything: how confidently the tire bites into loose gravel, how calmly it holds a line in the wet, and how much energy a long stretch of asphalt costs you. Schwalbe G-One R PRO Super Race V-Guard TLR, E-25, Addix Race 40-622 is built for exactly those days when you want to ride fast, but still keep a sense of control even on unfamiliar surfaces.
This gravel tire combines low rolling resistance with cornering confidence thanks to its specific “boomerang” profile and diagonally arranged side knobs that help maintain traction even in damp conditions. The V-Guard protection adds puncture resistance, so you can focus more on your line and worry less about flats on rocks or roots. The TLR (tubeless ready) design makes tubeless setup easier, which is often more comfortable and stable on gravel. And thanks to the E-25 rating, the tire is also suitable for e-bikes with assistance up to 25 km/h, where safety and predictable handling matter most.
The tire size corresponds to ETRTO 40-622, meaning a width of around 40 mm for a rim diameter of 622 mm, which you’ll also commonly see as the French sizing 700x40C. In inches, it’s listed as 28x1.50, so it fits most gravel and endurance bikes with “700c” wheels. The 67 TPI casing construction balances suppleness and durability for mixed terrain, while the ADDIX Race compound supports fast riding with confident grip. The maximum recommended pressure is set at 4.5 Bar (65 PSI), the weight of one tire is approximately 485 g, and the stated load capacity reaches 100 kg per tire; the Kevlar bead also makes transport and installation easier.
Schwalbe G-One R PRO is a versatile choice for riders who mix asphalt, gravel, and forest roads and want one tire for both speed and stability. If you’re looking for a sensible blend of grip, protection, and tubeless readiness in the Super Race version, this black option makes a lot of sense.
