The Academy Grade 4 Edition Funtasy is a lightweight 20" children's bike with quality components. Suitable for children from 115 to 130 cm, aged 6 to 8 years.
The weight of the bike greatly affects how much children enjoy their ride. A quality children's bike must be lightweight and easily adjustable. That's why the bike weighs only 7.5 kg and is equipped with high-quality components. The lowered top tube makes mounting and dismounting easier for children.
Stem
The patented Syntace Vario stem grows with your child in both height and length. It is seamlessly adjustable and 100% stable in every position.
Q-factor
The Q-factor describes the total width of the cranks and plays an important role in pedaling efficiency. Ideally, a bike's Q-factor should match the rider's natural step width. A smaller Q-factor is more ergonomic, while a too large Q-factor forces the feet into an "X" shape while pedaling. This prevents ergonomically correct, smooth pedaling, which could lead to knee pain and quick fatigue. Academy bikes have one of the smallest Q-factors on the market and are therefore perfectly designed for children.
Saddle
The flat saddle provides maximum support and prevents slipping. An optimally padded saddle (neither too soft nor too hard) prevents sinking in and offers a comfortable and secure seating position, enhancing both comfort and enjoyment!
Tires
Since Academy children's bikes focus on the power-to-weight ratio for kids, they feature lightweight and narrow VEE TIRE Rail tires. Their tread pattern makes them ideal for both city riding and gravel paths. Additionally, they look great and provide necessary visibility in traffic, thanks to reflective strips.
Belt Drive
In line with the "super lightweight concept", the belt drives are extremely light. Further benefits include less maintenance, longer lifespan, and very quiet operation.

The developers of Academy bikes, in collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics, Osteopathy, and Sports Medicine (DIOOS) led by Dr. Andreas Elsner, succeeded in developing ultra-light children's bikes that meet the latest ergonomic requirements. All models are lighter than 40% of an average child's weight, and frames with low and narrow bottom brackets allow children to pedal effortlessly. Short cranks and an upright sitting position always ensure that feet can reach the ground while maintaining an ergonomic knee position during riding.
