Aluminum Frame with Modern Geometry
The lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame combined with a full carbon fork perfectly balances stiffness for maximum pedaling efficiency and compliance for high comfort. The frame's geometry combines an endurance riding position with shorter chainstays for precise handling, agility, and optimal control over the bike. A longer reach (i.e., the horizontal distance from the center of the bike to the top of the head tube), shorter stem, and lower bottom bracket enhance stability in rougher terrain.
High Comfort
The new frame features lower seat stays with a smaller diameter for even better absorption of shocks and vibrations. The specially shaped D-Fuse seatpost also contributes to higher comfort, as it flexes slightly under load.
Adapting the Bike to the Terrain
An important innovation is the flip chip rear dropouts, which allow for adjustments to the bike's wheelbase. A shorter wheelbase offers greater bike agility, while setting it to a longer wheelbase improves stability at higher speeds and simultaneously increases rear tire clearance (up to 53 mm). The new frame also facilitates choosing the type of seatpost (thanks to a special adapter), allowing for either a "flexing" Giant D-Fuse seatpost or a standard round seatpost of 30.9 mm – enabling the use of a dropper post.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
