Focus Atlas 8.8 Apex gravel bike Nepalsilver/Steelgrey is a gravel bike with a carbon composite frame for fast riding on both gravel and asphalt. It belongs to the performance category with wireless shifting and DT Swiss wheels, suitable for sporty rides and long routes. The design allows for mounting accessories and offers a high permissible system weight.
The frame is made of carbon composite with thru-axles 142x12 mm and Flat Mount brake mounts. It also features integrated storage space, the Prep Pocket, including the Prep Pack for essential gear. The geometry combines gravel stability with a longer wheelbase and a consistent chainstay length of 425 mm. Available sizes range from XS to XL, with stack of 546–623 mm and reach of 375–420 mm.
Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by SRAM Apex AXS D1 in a 1x12 setup without a front derailleur. The SRAM S1000 Eagle Transmission AXS rear derailleur works with a SRAM XS-1270 10–52T cassette and a Sram BSA DUB bottom bracket.
Brakes: SRAM Apex D1 hydraulic disc brakes use Flat Mount mounting. SRAM Centerline rotors are 180 mm up front in sizes L–XL, otherwise 160 mm, and 160 mm at the rear in all sizes.
Wheels and tires: DT Swiss G 1800 wheelset is aluminum with a 20 mm rim height and 26-622 size. Schwalbe G-One R Pro 45-622 tires are tubeless ready for gravel use.
Cockpit: Focus Gravel Bar handlebars are aluminum and pair with the integrated FOCUS C.I.S. 2.0 stem with a mount for Garmin or Wahoo. The seatpost is a 27.2 mm carbon post with 15 mm setback, and the saddle is branded FOCUS.
The carbon frame and fork support efficient power transfer when riding at pace and accelerating on firm surfaces. The 425 mm chainstay length and a 70.5–71° head angle add confidence on descents and rough gravel. The 45-622 tires increase traction and damp small bumps without needing to drop pressure to the edge of stability. The 10–52T cassette range helps maintain cadence on long climbs even with a loaded bike.
This model is aimed at experienced riders who want a gravel bike with wireless shifting and a wide gear range for hilly terrain. It’s well suited for fast gravel routes, all-day rides, and bikepacking, with an emphasis on keeping gear organized thanks to the Prep Pocket. Compared to aluminum gravel bikes in the same category, it offers a carbon frame and an integrated cockpit with clean cable routing.
