Ridley Grifn A GRX400 gravel bike Dark Violet Cameleon is a gravel and all-road model designed for riding on asphalt, gravel roads, and lighter off-road terrain. It sits in the mid-range and targets riders who want practical equipment for training, trips, and bikepacking. The frame concept includes mounts for accessories and versatile use throughout the season.
The Grifn A frame is made from an aluminum alloy and uses a 12x142 mm thru-axle for stable rear-wheel tracking. The design is ready for a UDH hanger and internal cable routing, including wiring for a dynamo. Multiple mounting points for bottle cages and racks are included, as well as mounts for fenders. Maximum tire clearance is 38 mm with a double chainring setup.
The bike is available in sizes XS 51, S 54, M 57, L 60, and XL 63. Sizes are matched to rider height in the range of 158 to 203 cm. The carbon fork adds vibration damping while maintaining precise steering under disc braking.
Drivetrain: Shimano GRX400 shifting runs a 2x10 system. Shimano GRX 600 46-30T cranks are paired with a Shimano HG50 11-36 cassette, and both the front derailleur and rear derailleur are Shimano GRX 400.
Brakes: The bike is set up for disc brakes in the RS171 DB configuration. The rotors deliver consistent braking performance under load and in wet conditions.
Wheels and tires: Shimano RS171 DB wheelset is built for 700C. Vittoria Terreno Dry tires in 700x38c are aimed at fast gravel and firmer surfaces.
Cockpit: 4ZA Stratos Gravel handlebars come in widths from 420 to 480 mm. A Forza Stratos 90 mm stem is complemented by a Forza Stratos 27.2 mm seatpost with 15 mm offset and a Selle Italia Model X saddle.
The aluminum frame with a thru-axle supports power transfer when riding out of the saddle and holds its line in faster gravel corners. The carbon fork reduces hand fatigue on rougher surfaces and helps stability under braking. The 46-30 gearing and 11-36 cassette provide a wide range for loaded climbs as well as brisk riding on the flat. The 700x38c tires add confidence on gravel while still maintaining reasonable rolling resistance on asphalt.
The Ridley Grifn A is intended for experienced riders who want a gravel bike for a mix of road, gravel, and longer rides with bags. Thanks to the mounting points and fender mounts, it fits year-round riding as well as bikepacking. Compared to pure race gravel bikes, it emphasizes practicality and accessory compatibility.
