Ridley Grifn A 105 gravel bike in Chain Silver Gray is an aluminum all-road bike for fast road riding, hardpack, and lighter gravel. It’s aimed at experienced riders who want modern standards and bikepacking-ready features without the price of carbon. The Shimano 105 2x12 build targets the mid-performance segment with an emphasis on gear range.
The Grifn A frame is made from an aluminum alloy and uses a 12x142 mm rear thru-axle. The design includes multiple mounting points for bottle cages, bags, and accessories. It also features fender mounts and internal routing for dynamo wiring. The frame is ready for a UDH hanger and uses the same geometry as the carbon Grifn version.
Sizes are XS (51), S (54), M (57), L (60), and XL (63). Sizing corresponds to rider heights from 158 to 203 cm according to the size chart. The frame allows tire clearance up to 38 mm for broader use off the asphalt.
Drivetrain: Shifting is Shimano 105 2x12, including the front derailleur and rear derailleur. The Shimano 105 crankset comes with 50/34 chainrings, and the Shimano 105 cassette is 11–36.
Brakes: The bike uses disc brakes integrated into the Shimano 105 levers. Braking is set up for road and gravel, including riding with a load.
Wheels and tires: The wheelset is Shimano RS171 DB in 700C. Vittoria Zaffiro tires are 700x32.
Cockpit: The handlebars are 4ZA Stratos Gravel with a Forza Stratos stem. The Forza Stratos seatpost is 27.2 mm, and the saddle is a Selle Italia Model X.
The aluminum frame transfers power directly into forward motion, which you’ll appreciate when riding at pace and out of the saddle. The 50/34 chainrings paired with an 11–36 cassette provide a range for fast flats as well as longer climbs. The 700x32 tires keep rolling resistance snappy on asphalt and handle compacted gravel sections. The UDH hanger and thru-axles support precise tracking under braking and through faster corners.
The Grifn A 105 is for riders who switch between road and gravel and want one platform that also works for multi-day bikepacking. Thanks to the mounting points and fender mounts, it’s also suitable for year-round use. Compared with pure gravel frames with extreme tire clearance, it focuses more on speed and efficiency on firm surfaces.
