Focus Atlas 8.8 Apex gravel bike Azurblue/Diamondblack is a gravel bike with a carbon frame built for fast riding on gravel and tarmac alike. It targets experienced riders who want modern wireless shifting and a wide gear range. The spec is based on a twelve-speed SRAM drivetrain and DT Swiss wheels, placing it in a higher performance class.
The frame is made from a carbon composite and uses a 142×12 mm thru-axle and a flat-mount brake interface for a 160 mm rotor. The integrated Prep Pocket storage system including the Prep Pack makes it easy to carry tools without a frame bag. The carbon fork has a 100×12 mm thru-axle and also a flat-mount for a 160 mm rotor. The geometry delivers confident tracking thanks to 425 mm chainstays and a stable wheelbase of 1016–1083 mm depending on size.
Drivetrain: SRAM Apex AXS D1 1×12 with wireless shifting and a SRAM S1000 Eagle Transmission AXS rear derailleur. The SRAM XS-1270 cassette has a 10–52-tooth range, and the bottom bracket is a SRAM BSA DUB.
Brakes: SRAM Apex D1 hydraulic disc brakes use SRAM Centerline rotors. Up front it’s 180 mm on sizes L–XL, otherwise 160 mm; at the rear it’s always 160 mm.
Wheels and tires: DT Swiss G 1800 wheelset features aluminum rims with a 20 mm depth and a 26-622 size. Schwalbe G-One R Pro 45-622 tires are tubeless-ready.
Cockpit: Focus Gravel Bar handlebars are aluminum and pair with the integrated FOCUS C.I.S. 2.0 stem with a mount for Garmin or Wahoo. The seatpost is a 27.2 mm carbon post with 15 mm setback, and the saddle is Focus.
The carbon frame with thru-axles supports direct power transfer when pedaling and holds a line at higher speeds. Wide 45 mm tires increase mechanical comfort and help with traction on loose surfaces. The combination of a 40-tooth chainring and a 10–52 cassette keeps cadence in steep climbs as well as on fast transitions. Stability off-road is supported by the 425 mm chainstays and a wheelbase of over 1 m depending on size.
This bike is designed for experienced gravel riders who want wireless shifting and a gear range close to the modern 1× concept for long routes. It’s suitable for gravel, forest roads, and fast tarmac transfers, where you’ll appreciate the frame stiffness and high-volume tires. Compared with 2× gravel setups, it focuses on simpler operation and a notably easier gearing solution for off-road riding.
