The new GRADE is more comfortable, versatile, and adjustable than ever before. With a new look and a purposeful redesign of the iconic Triple Triangle, the new GT Grade is designed for longer and faster rides on a wide variety of surfaces.
"The GT brand celebrated great success with the introduction of the original Grade model in 2015. GT was at the forefront of the emerging gravel bike scene, being the first to unveil a carbon frame model equipped with disc brakes, designed for gravel road riding," said Patrick Kaye, GT's product manager. "The increased performance and added adaptability align GT Grade with current trends."
The new GT Grade model features a completely re-engineered Triple Triangle frame, which includes floating seat stays compared to the original model. This solution increases comfort during all-day rides on varied terrain by providing greater vertical compliance.
The seat stays are made from a blend of lightweight carbon and glass fibers. A massive glass fiber core provides toughness and damping qualities. The outer layer of carbon fibers increases stiffness. GT calls this combination Dual Fiber Dynamics, allowing riders to enjoy a bike that enhances control while riding and reduces fatigue.
For long trips and endless adventures, the Grade is equipped with mounting points on the fork and frame. You can attach a handlebar bag to the top tube, there are "anything cage" mounts on the fork, and aluminum frames also feature bottle cage mounts on the seat stays!
Another important parameter is tire clearance. The Grade follows current trends by fitting tires with a width of 37 mm, which is a good compromise for both road and gravel rides. However, the bike can accommodate widths up to 42 mm for real off-road adventures.
Triple Triangle is the construction technology of GT bike frames. This small triangular shape in the frame reduces rear flex, increases wheel liveliness and minimizes vibration transfer. The seat tube has a double joint with the top frame tube, and the seat stays form a stiffer and smaller rear triangle rear structure that increases handling precision. The triple triangle also provides more tire room and better power transfer to the rear wheel.
