The Maxxis Aggressor is a brand-new tire for aggressive trail riders. It doesn't feature an exceptionally high tread, but instead offers a highly sophisticated pattern with numerous traction edges to enhance grip. Its center tread is only medium-height, and the side knobs are deliberately reinforced to ensure the tire cuts in well and maintains direction securely.
The Maxxis Aggressor sets a new standard among enduro tires. It comes with EXO Protection for sidewall durability and is Tubeless Ready. An excellent tread that handles every terrain, the best all-rounder.
DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the development of double-layer construction for enduro racing. Two layers of 120 TPI casing reinforced with a butyl liner give the enduro racer the support and protection of a downhill tire, but in a lighter package. In the category of all-mountain tires, this is the highest level of protection.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance.
And where there is no tube, it also reduces the risk of punctures. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared to be mounted with sealant than other "tubeless" tires. The bead of TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true tubeless UST tire.
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tread pattern and profile of the tire on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tire profile, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for 35mm inner rim widths, but have been proven to work in the 30-35mm inner rim width range. Maxxis Wide Trail XC tires are optimized for use with 30mm inner rims, but will work well on rims as narrow as 25mm. Maxxis does not recommend rims wider than 30 mm or narrower than 25 mm.
The dual tread compounds use two different compounds. The centre of the tread uses a firmer compound to improve rolling resistance and create stronger braking edges, while the sidewalls and the tread side knobs use a softer compound for better control and cornering grip.
