The new downhill tire from Maxxis, named Assegai, was developed with significant input from downhill legend Greg Minnaar. This version is a lighter model for enduro bikes.
The tire tread is based in the center on a combination of the proven Minion DHR II and DHF patterns, where the DHF rolls well and provides confidence on hard surfaces, in corners, on wet roots and rocks, and the DHR II adds speed and aggressiveness during braking.
The design of the side lugs was then inspired by another popular tire, the High Roller. On top of all that, it features Wide Trail construction for wide rims, tubeless capability, double sidewall reinforcement, a soft 3C Maxx Terra compound, making it an excellent enduro tire.
