The new downhill tire from Maxxis, named Assegai, was developed with significant input from downhill legend Greg Minnaar.
The tread pattern in the center combines the proven patterns of the Minion DHR II and DHF, with the DHF providing good rolling capabilities and confidence on hard surfaces, in corners, on wet roots and rocks, while the DHR II adds speed and aggression during braking.
The design of the side knobs was inspired by another popular tire, the High Roller. On top of that, you get a construction for wide rims with Wide Trail technology, tubeless compatibility, double sidewall reinforcement, and the excellent 3C Maxx Grip compound, resulting in an outstanding downhill tire.
