The Maxxis Dissector is a fast enduro tire designed by Australian DH star Troy Brosnan. The tire was developed for an optimal combination of low rolling resistance and maximum grip in corners.
This versatile tire is actually designed for the rear wheel, but depending on the surface, it can also be used on the front, or on both wheels.
Troy Brosnan wanted to develop a unique tire that would ride insanely fast, cut through corners precisely, and slow down accordingly when needed.
Medium compound configuration used on selected MTB tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, but provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip.
EXO+ is Maxxis' medium puncture protection option suitable for all-round trail riding and lightweight e-bikes. It starts with a durable 60 TPI casing, an EXO puncture protection layer to the sidewalls, and finished off with a small butyl insert around the tire bead. The rigid construction and EXO material deflects damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl liner protects the tire from pinching at the rim and damaging the rim in a hard impact.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance.
And where there is no tube, it also reduces the risk of punctures. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared to be mounted with sealant than other "tubeless" tires. The bead of TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true tubeless UST tire.
