Compared to the previous version of the Forekaster, which was designed for fast XC bikes, this new V2 model (07/2022) is intended for modern trail bikes with 100-130 mm travel (Downcountry).
In comparison, the Forecaster V2 rolls faster than the Minion or even the Dissector while providing more predictable cornering, climbing, and braking traction than the Aspen or Rekon.
Medium compound configuration used on selected MTB tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, but provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip.
EXO+ is Maxxis' medium puncture protection option suitable for all-round trail riding and lightweight e-bikes. It starts with a durable 60 TPI casing, an EXO puncture protection layer to the sidewalls, and finished off with a small butyl insert around the tire bead. The rigid construction and EXO material deflects damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl liner protects the tire from pinching at the rim and damaging the rim in a hard impact.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance.
And where there is no tube, it also reduces the risk of punctures. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared to be mounted with sealant than other "tubeless" tires. The bead of TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true tubeless UST tire.
Fully adapted for use on electric bikes, certified for bikes with an maximum assisted speed of 50 km/h. Of course, they can also be used on conventional bicycles.
