The Maxxis Rekon is an aggressive trail tire inspired by the fast Ikon tire, suitable for softer and more challenging terrain.
Wide knobs down the center provide bike control during hard braking and L-shaped side knobs offer support when cornering at steep angles.
The tire's bead is wire, with a construction of 60 TPI fibers.
The dual tread compounds use two different compounds. The centre of the tread uses a firmer compound to improve rolling resistance and create stronger braking edges, while the sidewalls and the tread side knobs use a softer compound for better control and cornering grip.
