Women's Northwave Freeland cycling shoes, including a Vibram Volt flat outsole, designed to provide a high level of safety and ensure easy pedalling on flat pedals.
The shoes feature a wider front section, and the grooving in the heel area further ensures that this outsole offers good grip on the pedals and works in any terrain.
The EVA midsole guarantees lightness and shock absorption.
They feature a hiking-style closure, which includes an elastic strap on the tongue to keep the laces securely in place while you ride.
The upper is made from breathable mesh, and the abrasion-resistant inserts are made from TPU.
EVA, literally Ethylene-vinyl acetate is also known as Polyethylene-vinyl acetate i.e. PEVA. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, as the name suggests. The weight of the vinyl acetate component is in the range of 10 to 40% and the remainder is ethylene itself. Its physical properties is as an elastomeric polymer, i.e. a substance that excels in high elasticity. Thanks to its unique composition, it ranks among the most light yet flexible and soft materials. It is therefore not a classic thermoplastic, which is often commonly used for the production of many products around us.
Vibram is a manufacturer and brand of the most widely used rubber compound for the production of soles of various types of footwear, founded in 1937. To maintain the high standards of Vibram, each and every sole model undergoes a series of rigorous tests. The basic characteristics of Vibram soles are their abrasion resistance and grip, which are functional in a wide variety of climatic conditions. It also features long life, resists cracking and retains its properties on wet and dry surfaces.
