Pear Tune chip for e-bike MSO 4.0 Bafang CAN

Description

PearTune easily integrates into the e-bike system using compatible original connectors.

The device does not need any setup or diagnostics during installation – everything happens automatically and adapts to the specific e-bike.

PearTune is connected between the speedometer sensor and the motor unit and between the display and the motor unit. It is powered from the display. All data such as current, average, and maximum speed or distance traveled are displayed accurately.

PearTune MSO can be turned on or off at any time during the ride by two long presses of the light button, or by a short press of the + button followed quickly by the - button.

The main advantage is that after installation, the maximum speed of the e-bike is no longer limited – it is only determined by the pedaling frequency.

Installation:

① Unscrew the bolts and remove the plastic cover from the motor on the opposite side of the chainring. All necessary cables and connectors are located under this cover in the space between the motor and the bike frame.

② Disconnect the 8-pin connector between the display and the motor, and the 4-pin connector between the speed sensor and the motor.

③ Connect the two appropriate connectors from the MSO in place of the original display and speed sensor connectors to the motor unit.
Then connect the original display connector and the original speed sensor connector, previously disconnected from the motor, to the remaining MSO connectors.
All connectors are keyed to prevent incorrect connections; there is only one way to connect them all.

④ Position the MSO correctly (we recommend inside the e-bike frame if possible, ideally with the chip body facing upwards = moisture protection) and optionally secure the wiring. Reattach the plastic cover, tighten the previously removed bolts, and the bike is ready to ride again.

By using the PearTune MSO device, the user agrees to use the modified e-bike in accordance with the applicable legislation of the country, also off public roads, i.e., only on private land or designated areas. The user also acknowledges that operating the bike off private land, even with the PearTune MSO device turned off but installed, may not be in compliance with legislation. The manufacturer does not guarantee the non-violation of the e-bike's warranty or the impossibility of damage or system blockage of the e-bike. The manufacturer disclaims responsibility for any damages, whether to health or property, associated with the installation or use of this device. The manufacturer holds a certificate of electromagnetic compatibility testing – compliance with EU regulations (CE marking) and a certificate on the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS marking).
