Description

PearTune MSO is a tuning chip for e-bikes used to remove the speed limit of pedal assistance at 25 km/h for Brose mid-drive systems.

PearTune BROSE connects to the e-bike system using compatible connectors. The device does not require any configuration and does not need diagnostics during installation. All configuration and adaptation to the specific e-bike is handled automatically.

PearTune is connected between the speed sensor and the motor unit, and between the display and the motor unit. The display power supply is used for operation. All data such as current, average, maximum speed, distance traveled, etc., are accurately displayed on the screen.

The only difference is that from the moment of installation, you, not your bike, determine how fast you ride. The maximum speed is now only limited by pedaling frequency.

Usage:

The PearTune MSO function can be activated or deactivated at any time during a ride with two short presses of the light button. The function of this button remains unchanged with a long press. The device's activity is displayed on the screen once it is activated, showing a value of 9.9 km/h (2.5 km/h) immediately after turning the device on (off).

Installation Procedure

① Unscrew the screws and remove the plastic cover or “cap” on the side opposite the chainring. Bikes without a separate plastic “cap” at the bottom will require the pedal arm to be removed with appropriate equipment. Under this cover are the necessary cables and connectors.

② Disconnect the 5-pin connector between the display unit and the motor unit, and the 2-pin connector between the speed sensor and the motor unit.

③ Connect both corresponding MSO connectors to the motor unit in place of the original connectors and firmly press the original, previously disconnected connectors into the MSO according to the color coding (red side of the wire to the side of the red/orange wire or facing down – towards the motor body).

④ For a watertight system, it is recommended to use heat-shrink tubing on both MSO connectors attached to the original connectors from the speed sensor and the display unit. Use a hot glue gun to secure the connectors in the motor body. Place the MSO in the correct position and optionally secure the cabling using cable ties. Reinstall the plastic cover and pedal arm, and the bike is ready to ride.
