The Scorpion E-MTB range introduces 3 different tread patterns for various terrain conditions: M (mixed terrain), R (versatile rear tire), and S (soft and loose terrain). These tires are specially designed to provide performance support for everyday trail use.

The Scorpion E-MTB was made for high-performance mountain e-bikes and is resistant to their power. Its patented HyperWALL construction ensures the reliability of a downhill tire without excessive weight, while the SmartGRIP Gravity compound provides grip on dry and wet surfaces while also offering excellent tear resistance thanks to the innovative and sustainable chemical component called Lignin. The tire can thus maintain its performance throughout its lifespan, even with partial wear of the tread.

Innovative technology that Pirelli has brought into the cycling world thanks to experience and background in motorsport: a newly designed bead and sidewall construction that enhances its properties—maneuverability at low air pressures and pinch protection. Key characteristics for off-road use, especially in the most demanding disciplines like gravity and eMTB, are the integrity of the tire bead and sidewall stability. The tread pattern relies heavily on its behavior and depends on the stability and integrity of the bead and sidewall. Pirelli has introduced a construction where the bead and sidewall's rubber insert are firmly attached with a fabric binder, making them act as a single unit, not two separate components that can move against each other, which is a common tire construction standard. Benefits of this technology by the numbers (based on Pirelli's internal laboratory and practical tests): improved bead stability (+10%), better pinch protection (+50%), better control when using low air pressures (+25%), greater sidewall cut protection.
The HyperWALL construction is a technology designed for mountain e-bikes as it provides additional reinforcement for the tire sidewalls and better puncture resistance. The rubber insert firmly attached to the bead offers excellent pinch protection while also providing stronger support at lower inflation pressures.
