The Pirelli Scorpion XC R ProWALL 29x2.2 is a tire designed for XC and marathon.

The R model has a specific design intended for the rear wheel. It features a tread pattern with a medium-high profile of blocks and medium spacing between them to enhance traction and durability. Additionally, the tire is characterized by a high level of reliability and long lifespan. It performs best in combination with the M model on the front wheel for maximum performance and ideal riding characteristics.

GENERAL TECHNOLOGIES USED:

ProWALL
Technology of protective sidewall reinforcement for better puncture resistance and more stable performance when using low air pressures in the tire. An added layer of nylon fabric over the casing on the sidewall enhances resistance not only against cuts and pinches but also improves the tire's overall behavior in corners, allowing for better bike control and more precise line holding. These features were achieved without compromising the tire's weight and efficiency in power transfer from pedaling, making tires with this technology perfect for racing XC applications to aggressive Trail riding when complemented with an adequate casing (120tpi or 60tpi).
SmartGRIP
A top-notch rubber compound is the product of Pirelli's experience gained from off-road racing circuits for 2 and 4 wheels worldwide. Pirelli engineers developed a compound with two extremely opposite properties:
• cut resistance: ensures maximum mechanical grip and traction in dry conditions and offers greater puncture resistance along with longer durability
• chemical grip on wet surfaces: no need to worry about changing conditions, whether it rains or if the track has muddy and slippery sections
The result is a longer-lasting riding performance of the tire, offering excellent grip and traction in contrasting conditions such as dry and wet, but also maintaining these riding characteristics as the tread wears. Unlike multi-compound rubber mixes, the single-compound SmartGRIP allows for balanced riding characteristics throughout the tire's wear and its entire lifespan. The greater mechanical toughness of the rubber also provides higher resistance not only against wear but also against punctures.
