Rock Machine RIFF Jr 20 kids’ bike Matte Deep Ocean Blue is a children’s mountain bike with 20" wheels, designed for off-road riding and family outings. It is built on an aluminum frame and a simple seven-speed drivetrain that targets an affordable performance category. The component spec emphasizes durability and easy operation for younger riders.
The frame is made from 6061-T6 aluminum with heat treatment, which increases strength while keeping the material lightweight. The design matches a kids’ MTB with an emphasis on stability and easy control at low speeds. The fork is aluminum with shaped tubing, so the front end stays stiff under braking and in corners. The 27.2 mm seatpost diameter makes it easy to fine-tune the fit to the rider’s height.
Drivetrain: The microSHIFT DS45-7R shifter works with 7 speeds, and the rear derailleur is a microSHIFT RD-M21SS. The Shimano CS-HG200-7 cassette has a 12–28 range, and the bottom bracket is a Thun Ibex 120 mm with a BSA thread.
Brakes: Tektro J310 linear-pull rim brakes apply power directly to the rim. This setup is easy to service and straightforward to adjust.
Wheels and tires: The 20-inch wheels use Stars J19SD rims with 20 holes and One1 hubs with a quick release. Rubena Scylla 20 × 1.9" tires provide confidence on gravel as well as on paved paths.
Cockpit: One1 Alloy MTB handlebars are paired with a One1 MAS-MD60368 Alloy stem for solid front-end control. The Selle Royal Junior saddle and One1 Alloy 27.2 mm seatpost are aimed at children’s anatomy and easy adjustment.
The aluminum frame combined with a rigid aluminum fork delivers a direct response through the pedals, which is noticeable when starting off and on gentle climbs. The 20" wheels increase agility in tight corners and on narrow trails. The 1.9" wide tires add traction on dirt and gravel without feeling twitchy on asphalt. The rim brakes are easy to modulate, as long as the rim’s braking surface is kept clean.
RIFF Jr 20 is for kids moving up to a multi-speed MTB who want to ride off the bike path. It’s suitable for regular rides, light terrain, and learning how to use shifting and brakes. Within the category of 20" kids’ mountain bikes with rim brakes, it targets riders who prefer simple servicing and a lower purchase price.
