Women’s Pedroc Powertex technical shoes with a lightweight yet durable synthetic upper and an outsole suitable for any terrain.
Enhanced stability is provided by the 3F system with Kevlar® cables coated in nylon.
The upper is made from abrasion-resistant double ripstop - lightweight transparent ripstop mesh and highly durable ripstop. Protection from the elements and a comfortable internal shoe climate are ensured by Powertex membranes. The EVA midsole provides optimal rebound as well as comfort.
The shoes are equipped with the Pomoca™ Speed Hiker Pro outsole with a multi-directional tread pattern that performs well on mud, grass, and rocks, and helps prevent slipping thanks to S-Path technology.
This shoe is a SALEWA® Committed product, made in accordance with independently audited standards of environmental and social responsibility and featuring a water-repellent finish free of PFC chemicals.
The Salewa 3F System connects the instep area of the shoe with the sole and heel, promoting flexibility, support and proper fit where needed.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
EVA, literally Ethylene-vinyl acetate is also known as Polyethylene-vinyl acetate i.e. PEVA. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, as the name suggests. The weight of the vinyl acetate component is in the range of 10 to 40% and the remainder is ethylene itself. Its physical properties is as an elastomeric polymer, i.e. a substance that excels in high elasticity. Thanks to its unique composition, it ranks among the most light yet flexible and soft materials. It is therefore not a classic thermoplastic, which is often commonly used for the production of many products around us.
