When you want to ride cross-country at pace but don’t want to be “praying” through corners, the right tire makes all the difference. Schwalbe Rick XC PRO TLR, E-25, Addix Speed 29x2,25 is built for situations where tenths of a second matter, yet it still holds its line on rough ground. The result is a more confident tempo off-road and peace of mind, even when the trail isn’t perfectly smooth.
Schwalbe Rick XC PRO was designed with the ambition to deliver race speed without unnecessary compromises, making it a great fit for XC races and hard training sessions alike. The tread is engineered to combine low rolling resistance on flats and climbs with solid support when leaned over, where cornering confidence is decided. A reinforced transition zone between the center and side blocks helps protect against so-called “snake bite” damage during harder landings or when riding through rocks. Thanks to the E-25 rating, it’s also a safe choice for e-bikes with assist up to 25 km/h.
The tire is intended for wheels with a 29-inch rim diameter, and in the 29x2,25 inch size it offers a balanced blend of speed and stability; this is also reflected in the ETRTO 57-622 marking. The tubeless design with TLR technology makes it easier to ride at lower pressures and reduces the risk of punctures from pinch flats, while the recommended maximum pressure is 3,7 Bar, i.e. 54 PSI. The 67 TPI casing targets a snappy feel and sensible durability for XC use. With a weight of around 680 g and a load rating up to 120 kg (per tire), it suits both lightweight race hardtails and more trail-oriented XC bikes; the folding kevlar bead also makes transport and installation easier.
Schwalbe Rick XC PRO TLR is a fast XC tire that doesn’t forget about cornering control and protection under harder use. If you’re looking for sporty rubber for a 29" wheel with tubeless potential and the ADDIX Speed compound, this model offers a highly sensible mix of speed, grip, and confidence.
