When the trail breaks into a steeper descent, you want calm confidence at your fingertips. Shimano Altus BR-MT200 rear disc brake delivers clear bite point and smooth speed control.
The hydraulic disc brake offers precise power modulation, so you slow down exactly according to the surface. It’s suitable for everyday rides as well as longer descents.
The set combines the BL-MT200 lever and the BR-MT200 caliper, so you install it as a complete unit. The feel is natural and won’t catch you off guard, even when you’re tired.
The two-piston caliper presses the pads evenly, which helps maintain consistent braking when your pace changes. In practice, that means fewer twitchy reactions when braking into corners.
B01S polymer pads provide quiet operation and smooth braking in city traffic and on gravel. That makes the brake pleasant even with frequent stop-and-go riding.
It’s intended as a rear disc brake in a complete set with lever and caliper.
The technical designation is BR-MT200 / BL-MT200 in black.
The SMBH59 hose length is 160 cm for rear routing on most frames.
The hydraulic system uses mineral oil, and the caliper features a Post Mount interface.
Shimano Altus BR-MT200 is a practical choice when you want a reliable rear hydraulic brake without unnecessary complexity. It feels well balanced for everyday riding and on trips.
With the lever and caliper matched in a single set, you get consistent performance and easy servicing. Braking stays predictable and composed, even as conditions on the route change.
