You may also need to replace the chainring if the one you have is not suitable for 11-speed.

   I’m sorry, but the RD-M5100 SGS 11-speed derailleur cannot be used for a 10-speed drivetrain/cassette; it uses a different cable pull and shifting would not work correctly.

Hello, I’m considering swapping this rear derailleur (I currently have SRAM NX) 11s – 11-46 cassette. Will this one be better? If yes, which shifter would you recommend for it? Right one, straight onto the handlebar with a clamp.

And which lever do you have? MT520 is the caliper designation and you can have different levers. If you have, for example, an MT501 lever, then it has I-Spec II and this one will fit:

If the shifter is to be clamp-mounted and for 11 speeds, then it can only be this type:

Hello, what’s the difference between derailleurs for a 1x and a 2x crankset? I noticed there are derailleurs for 2x11 and 1x11. So does that mean this one wouldn’t work for 2x11 gearing?
