When your run stretches beyond “just for a moment,” you want to have everything within reach while still running light. A running vest gives you a comfortable sense of freedom because it fits close to your body, doesn’t restrict your shoulders, and still holds all the essentials. It’s a running vest for long training runs, mountain trails, and races where small details—like quick access to drinks or safety features—make all the difference.
Silva Strive 5 is a versatile running vest that combines low weight with a well-thought-out pocket layout, so you don’t have to stop unnecessarily during a run to rearrange your gear. The attachments for running poles and the option to neatly route a headlamp cable are also practical—something you’ll appreciate on early-morning or evening runs.
The vest offers a 5-liter capacity, making it suitable for longer runs when you’re carrying mandatory gear, a light jacket, or nutrition. In size M, it has a weight of 179 g, which is especially приятné on climbs and during race efforts. The construction combines a soft ripstop material with ventilated 3D mesh so the vest fits well while still breathing; the material composition is 87% nylon and 13% elastane on the body and 100% polyester on the front. At the front you’ll find two bottle pockets with adjustable straps, two zip pockets (one with a key hook), and additional mesh pockets; at the back there’s space for a hydration bladder or gear.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
