Stevens 8X Gent cross bike black is a sporty cross bike for asphalt, cycle paths, and gravel roads. It’s aimed at riders who want fast fitness performance while still feeling confident on rougher surfaces. The spec is built around reliable Shimano Deore XT components and an air suspension fork.
The frame is made from Aluminium SL 6061 TB with triple-butted tubes and smooth welds. The design includes internal routing for the shifting cables and external routing for the brakes. The geometry blends stability with a sporty riding position, supported by a 1 1/8"–1 1/2" tapered head tube. Frame sizes are 48, 52, 55, 58, and 61 cm, with a 445 mm chainstay length across sizes.
Reach ranges from 388 to 402 mm depending on size. Stack spans 588 to 655 mm, improving steering predictability on broken surfaces. Wheelbase is 1061 to 1083 mm, so the bike tracks well even on gravel.
Drivetrain: Shimano Deore XT Trekking SL-T8000 shifters run a 3x10 setup. Shimano Deore XT FC-T8000 cranks with 48-36-26 teeth are paired with a Shimano CS-M771 11-32 cassette and a BSA 73 mm bottom bracket.
Brakes: Shimano Deore XT BR-M8100 hydraulic disc brakes use SM-RT70 rotors. Up front it’s 180 mm and in the rear 160 mm, both with Center-Lock mounting.
Wheels and tires: Oxygen RM-X21 rims in 21x622 are laced to Shimano Deore XT hubs, QR15x100 mm front and QR10x135 mm rear. Schwalbe Smart Sam Performance 42-622 tires feature the ADDIX compound and a folding construction.
Cockpit: Oxygen Scorpo handlebars are 640 mm wide with 9° backsweep and 15 mm rise. The Oxygen Scorpo stem has a 6° angle, the Oxygen Scorpo seatpost is 27.2 mm in diameter, and the saddle is an Oxygen Havoc.
The triple-butted aluminum frame transfers power directly, which you’ll notice both when riding out of the saddle and when accelerating. The SR Suntour NRX-E RLR Air fork with 63 mm travel smooths out small bumps and includes a lockout. Wider 42 mm tires increase traction on gravel and stability in fast corners. The 3x10 gearing provides fine steps for flats as well as long climbs.
The bike is designed for experienced riders who want a fast cross bike for everyday training, commuting, and longer rides. It’s ideal for routes that mix asphalt, hard-packed gravel, and forest roads without technical sections. Compared to a gravel bike, it offers a more upright cockpit and a suspension fork, while still keeping lively handling.
