Woom 4 EXPLORE kids’ bike mellow yellow is an off-road-oriented children’s bike on 20" wheels, designed for riders roughly aged 6–8 and 115–130 cm tall. It falls into the lightweight performance category of kids’ bikes, where low weight, a functional drivetrain, and effective disc brakes make the difference. The concept is aimed at a mix of asphalt, gravel, and hard-packed paths on family rides.
The frame is made from AA 6061 aluminum alloy with butted tubes and a square profile for balanced stiffness. The kids’ geometry features a slight kink in the top tube for easier handling and more confident mounting. Up front it uses an integrated 1" headset with sealed bearings and a top cap. The fork is a lightweight aluminum unit with a 1" steerer, supporting precise tracking without unnecessary weight.
Drivetrain: Shimano SL-RV300 Revoshift shifter is 7-speed and works with a Shimano Tourney RD-TY200-SS rear derailleur. The cranks are 110 mm aluminum with a 28-tooth chainring, and the cassette has an 11–28 tooth range.
Brakes: Promax hydraulic disc brakes in the flatmount standard use 140/140 mm rotors. The brake levers have an adjustable reach for smaller hands.
Wheels and tires: The bike is built on 20" wheels with lightweight aluminum rims and 24 steel spokes. Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 20x1,5" tires are folding and feature reflective stripes.
Cockpit: The aluminum handlebar is 550 mm wide and is complemented by an adjustable aluminum stem to change the riding position. The ergonomic grips are tapered for a child’s hand, and the seatpost was developed in cooperation with Selle Royal.
The aluminum frame with butted tubes supports quick acceleration and predictable responses to pedaling. The kids’ geometry and 20" wheels keep the center of gravity low, making it easier to steer through corners. Off-road tires with the smaller 1,5" volume provide more support on gravel while still feeling firm on asphalt. Hydraulic disc brakes modulate braking power more smoothly than mechanical systems, which helps on longer descents.
Woom 4 EXPLORE is for kids who already know how to shift and ride beyond smooth asphalt. The 7-speed range and lightweight build suit routes with short climbs as well as frequent stop-and-go riding in the city. Compared to kids’ bikes with rim brakes, it delivers more consistent braking performance in changing weather.
