Woom 5 EXPLORE kids’ bike mellow yellow is a versatile children’s bike for light off-road terrain and everyday riding, built on 24" wheels. It’s aimed at riders roughly 7 to 11 years old and 125–145 cm tall, who already care about handling and functional components. In terms of equipment, it sits in a more technically oriented class, with hydraulic disc brakes and 8 speeds.
The frame is made from AA 6061 aluminum with butted tubes and kid-specific geometry. The top tube has a slight bend that improves handling and makes getting on and off easier. Squared tube profiles increase stiffness in high-stress areas while keeping weight low. Up front is a lightweight aluminum unicrown fork with a 1" steerer and an integrated headset with sealed industrial bearings.
Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by microSHIFT Acolyte with 8 speeds and a trigger shifter. The cranks are 130 mm, with a 28T narrow-wide chainring and an 11–32T cassette.
Brakes: Promax hydraulic disc brakes use a flat mount interface. The rotors measure 160 mm up front and 140 mm at the rear.
Wheels and tires: The wheels are 24" with ultra-light aluminum rims. Schwalbe Billy Bonkers Performance Line 24 × 2" tires are folding and feature reflective stripes.
Cockpit: The aluminum handlebar is 580 mm wide and has tapered ends for kids’ hands. The stem is forged and allows height and length adjustment, and the seatpost has a quick-release clamp.
Butted tubes and the frame’s squared profile deliver efficient power transfer when accelerating and riding out of the saddle. The geometry with a bent top tube supports stability while also making the bike easier to handle at low speeds. The 2" wide tires increase mechanical comfort on gravel and hard-packed paths. Hydraulic disc brakes with a smaller rear rotor help you modulate braking power without unnecessary lock-ups.
The bike is designed for kids who already know how to shift and want functional equipment for longer rides, bike paths, and light forest trails. It will also appeal to parents looking for low weight, easy handling, and safe braking in traffic. With a maximum load of 80 kg, it also makes sense for more intensive everyday use.
