Description

Beany Blaster XC 27.5 kids' bike black is a junior mountain bike designed for cross-country riding and fast off-road riding. It targets older kids with a height of 140–170 cm who are looking for low weight and functional components. With its equipment, it aims for the sport class, where handling and effective brakes are key.

Size 13.5" is recommended by the manufacturer for a height of 140 - 160 cm.
Size 15" is recommended by the manufacturer for a height of 150 - 170 cm.

Frame and geometry

The frame is made from 6061 aluminum alloy with triple-butted tubes, which supports low weight and sensible stiffness. The rigid Beany fork made from 6061 aluminum keeps things simple and provides precise tracking. The geometry was designed for juniors in collaboration with pediatric physiotherapists and focuses on a balanced riding position. The bike is produced in sizes 13.5" and 15" for a height of 140–170 cm.

The head tube angle is 65° and the seat tube angle is 73°, supporting stability while also enabling efficient pedaling. Chainstay length is 437 mm for both sizes, and the wheelbase is 1088.7 mm or 1098.7 mm depending on the frame. The top tube is 540.5 mm on the 13.5" and 548 mm on the 15". There is clearance for tires up to 2.35" wide.

Components

Drivetrain: Shimano SL-U4000 CUES shifting is set up as 1x9 and works with the Shimano RD-U4000 CUES GS rear derailleur. The Shimano CS-LG300-9 cassette has an 11–41 tooth range, and the Shimano CN-LG500 chain uses the Linkglide system.

Brakes: Braking is handled by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes with Shimano hydraulic brake levers. Power modulation remains consistent even during longer braking on the trail.

Wheels and tires: The built wheels use double-wall Solely.jr alloy rims and Solely.jr alloy 32H hubs. KENDA 27.5x2.10 tires with 120 TPI and a kevlar bead are aimed at low rolling resistance and confident tracking.

Cockpit: Solely jr. alloy handlebars are 680 mm wide, and the Solely jr. alloy stem is 40 mm long. The Solely.jr alloy seatpost measures 350 mm and is complemented by a Beany saddle.

Ride characteristics

The combination of a rigid fork and a lightweight aluminum frame transfers power to the pedals directly and without unnecessary losses. Wider 27.5x2.10 tires help with traction on gravel and hardpack. The slacker 65° head angle increases stability in faster sections and on descents. The 11–41 cassette range supports speed on the flats as well as cadence on shorter climbs.

Who it’s for

This bike is designed for more experienced juniors who ride easy to intermediate MTB trails, forest roads, and pump tracks. It’s also suitable for kids’ XC races, where weight and reliable braking matter. Compared to typical kids’ MTBs with a suspension fork, it focuses on lower weight and simpler maintenance.
