BMC 2022 Twostroke AL 20 20" kids’ bike is a children’s mountain bike with a rigid fork and 20" wheels. It’s aimed at riders looking for a capable MTB for trips and off-road trails, with an emphasis on handling. The build is based on a simple 1x8 drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes.
The frame is made from a aluminum alloy with a powder-coated finish and a design for 20" wheels. The head tube uses the 1 1/8" standard, which makes servicing and part replacement easier at a regular bike shop. The bottom bracket uses the threaded BSA standard for greater service reliability in kids’ use. The rear triangle uses a 9×135 mm quick-release, and the frame has a Post Mount mount for a 140 mm rotor.
Drivetrain: SRAM X4 shifting offers 8 speeds and Trigger shifter operation. At the back, a long-cage SRAM X4 derailleur works with a SUNRACE 11–34 cassette to increase the climbing range.
Brakes: TEKTRO HD-M286 hydraulic disc brakes use 140 mm rotors. The brake levers are the Short Reach version for smaller hands.
Wheels and tires: DD32 rims are paired with machined-alloy hubs with sealed bearings. Kenda Booster 20×2,4" tires improve traction and stability on dirt and gravel.
Cockpit: SDG Slater handlebars are 650 mm wide with 20 mm rise. The BMC stem is 40 mm long, and the aluminum seatpost has a 27,2 mm diameter.
The rigid aluminum frame and rigid fork transfer power directly into forward motion and support smooth pedaling on flat ground. Wide 20×2,4" tires absorb some of the vibration and help provide confidence in corners. The 11–34 cassette range makes shorter climbs easier without the need for a front derailleur. Hydraulic brakes with 140 mm rotors deliver predictable bite and consistent performance in wet conditions.
The bike is designed for kids who ride regularly and want a kids’ MTB with braking performance close to adult bikes. It’s suitable for forest roads, gravel, and easier singletrack, where the tire width and simple 1x drivetrain stand out. The maximum rider weight is 60 kg, so it also covers more sporty use in this category.
