The extremely lightweight DYNAFIT DNA racing helmet weighs only 300 grams and features a minimalist, compact design. Thanks to triple certification, this helmet meets all the safety requirements of the ISMF guidelines for skimo races. It is also compatible with the DYNAFIT ski goggles system.
The ultralight DNA skitouring racing helmet was developed for demanding athletes.
The DNA helmet is characterized by its minimalist design, reduced padding, and generously dimensioned ventilation openings for great comfort and ventilation during demanding skimo races. Thanks to the lightweight "in-mold" construction with EPS inner lining and minimal polycarbonate outer shell, the DNA helmet achieves a sensationally low weight, weighing only 300 grams.
This racing helmet meets all ISMF regulation requirements. Additionally, it boasts triple certification for skiing, cycling, and climbing. Certification: ASTM F2040-02 Ski and Snowboard, CPSC biking, EN 1077 B Skiing & Snowboarding, EN 1078 Biking, EN 12492 Climbing & Mountaineering, UIAA 106.
This minimal, lightweight fit system with straps ensures the helmet offers a secure and comfortable fit. Ski goggles can be secured with a stretch cord to prevent them from sliding off unexpectedly during the race.
For a perfectly matched and exceptionally lightweight system, the DNA helmet can be excellently paired with DYNAFIT ski goggles. This combination ensures the best possible interface with seamless closure on all sides using the TLT adapter (available separately). The specially developed TLT adapter attaches the goggles directly to the helmet using a clip system.
The helmet is available in two sizes S/M (53-58cm) / L/XL (57-61cm).
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
EPS is expanded polystyrene. It is a strong and rigid material with a cellular structure, composed of 2% polystyrene and the rest is air.
