The upper made of ripstop fabric withstands challenging terrain conditions and protects your feet during aggressive descents. In addition to these durable fabrics, the Gravity racing shoe is equipped with the essential protection required for fast riding: an injected TPU armored toe box guards against stones and debris, while a raised inner ankle profile and robust laminated abrasion protection on high-wear zones ensure durability.
The Gravita outsole provides the kind of interface between shoe and pedal needed for fast and aggressive riding, combining the stickiest Vibram XS Trek Evo rubber compound with a specific tread pattern.
An ergonomic lace-up pattern was developed for the Tensor, which wraps around the foot and evenly distributes tension during pedaling. A powerstrap across the instep ensures a snug fit, stabilizes the foot arch, and secures the heel in place while also keeping the laces under control.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
Vibram is a manufacturer and brand of the most widely used rubber compound for the production of soles of various types of footwear, founded in 1937. The basic characteristics of Vibram soles are their abrasion resistance and grip, which are functional in a wide variety of climatic conditions.
