Focus SAM 8 800Wh full-suspension e-bike Lilac matt / Darklilac matt is an enduro e-bike for technical trails and long descents. It’s built around a Bosch mid-drive motor and mullet wheels to combine stability and agility. It sits in a higher performance class where travel, brakes, and battery capacity make the difference.
The frame is made from a hydroformed 7005 aluminum alloy and uses F.O.L.D. kinematics with 160 mm of rear travel. The rear axle uses the 148×12 mm standard, and the frame is designed for a 180 mm Post Mount rotor. Geometry can be tuned by changing the head tube angle to 63.5° or 64.5° and choosing a chainstay length of 441 or 448 mm. The bike comes in sizes S to XL, with reach from 435 to 520 mm and stack from 630 to 666 mm.
Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by SRAM Eagle 70 with 12 speeds and a SRAM Eagle 70 rear derailleur. The SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission cassette has a 10–52-tooth range, and the Samox cranks are 160 mm long.
Brakes: Four-piston TRP EVO Comp brakes are fitted front and rear. TRP S06E rotors measure 220 mm on both wheels.
Wheels and tires: The mullet setup uses WTB Sti30 TGH rims, 29" up front and 27.5" in the rear. Tires are a Maxxis Assegai 29×2.5" front and a Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5×2.5" rear.
Cockpit: The aluminum handlebar is 800 mm wide with a 30 mm rise. The FOCUS C.I.S. 2.0 stem is 40 mm long, and the Post Moderne DP-212 dropper post offers 125 to 230 mm of travel.
The combination of a FOX 38 Rhythm fork with 170 mm of travel and a FOX DHX Performance coil shock is aimed at stability on rough descents. The adjustable head tube angle lets you move between a calmer, more planted line and quicker handling. The choice of chainstay length changes weight distribution and behavior in tight corners. The Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 85 Nm of torque supports climbing even with the bike’s higher weight.
Focus SAM 8 is aimed at experienced riders tackling enduro tracks, bike parks, and technical Alpine descents. Thanks to the 800 Wh battery, it makes sense for longer days off-road with more elevation gain. Compared to lighter trail e-bikes, it leans on travel, coil suspension, and robust tires.
