Giant Anthem Advanced SL 2 S Carbon/Shoreline bike

Description

Giant Anthem Advanced SL 2 S Carbon/Shoreline is a full-suspension MTB built for mountain biking, focused on sporty riding and pedaling efficiency. It suits experienced riders who care about the balance of weight, stiffness, and suspension performance in technical terrain. In terms of performance, it targets the higher tier of race-oriented full-suspension bikes.

Frame and geometry

At its core is a carbon composite frame with clean lines for internal routing and cable protection out on the trails. The full-suspension frame concept is designed to transfer power efficiently while keeping the rear end active. The geometry matches a modern take on sporty XC and marathon riding, where quick direction changes are part of the game. The Carbon/Shoreline colorway leans into the raw carbon look.

Components

Drivetrain: The bike uses a multi-speed shifting system with a rear cassette to provide a wide gear range for climbs. The setup is chosen for smooth shifting under load and a sporty cadence.

Brakes: It comes equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for consistent performance in mud and on wet roots. The rotors are sized for long descents and control in slower sections.

Wheels and tires: The bike is built around 29" wheels, which improve rollover capability and help maintain speed. The tire choice aims for fast rolling while keeping traction on loose surfaces.

Cockpit: The cockpit uses a sporty handlebar width and stem for precise line choice between obstacles. The saddle and seatpost are selected for long hours in the saddle and a stable position for men’s and unisex riders.

Ride characteristics

The carbon frame delivers high torsional stiffness, which you’ll notice when accelerating out of the saddle and on climbs over hardpack. The full-suspension setup helps keep the rear wheel in contact with the ground, so traction remains predictable even on roots. With 29" wheels, the bike rolls over edges more calmly and holds speed better in rough terrain. Hydraulic disc brakes support precise modulation when braking late into corners.

Who it’s for

Giant Anthem Advanced SL 2 S is for riders who tackle fast forest routes and prioritize efficiency on all-day rides. It makes sense for sporty XC, marathons, and technical trails where you’ll appreciate the suspension performance. If you prefer speed over travel, it fits into the same category as race-focused full-suspension 29" models.
