The SyncDrive Pro 2 motor was developed in collaboration with Yamaha, offering an impressive torque of 85 Nm and weighing only 2.7 kg. This ensures significant acceleration and greater mobility in challenging terrain. It is designed and tuned to work seamlessly with Maestro suspension and for rough terrain riding. It responds well to rider torque and provides strong support even at low speeds.
The automatic Smart Assist mode uses intelligent sensors and advanced algorithms to optimize motor assistance, eliminating the need to manually switch ride modes. This ensures efficient utilization of energy, both your own and the electricity from the battery.
The new EnergyPak 400 battery is designed for maximum performance and minimal size. It is integrated into the carbon frame for a compact and efficient design.
RideControl Ergo 3 remote control is mounted on the all-new Giant Contact SLR integrated carbon handlebars. They can be attached to either side of the handlebars, allowing you to customize control according to your needs, ensuring a clean look and organized cockpit layout.
High-performance raw carbon material with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio is used to produce the custom Advanced Composite material. The front triangle of the frame is assembled and molded as one continuous piece (monocoque) using a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.
The Flip Chip system allows you to quickly adjust the geometry of a Maestro suspension-equipped mountain bike to better suit your preferred terrain type or riding style. This is done by using the eccentric (offset, two-position ) inserts located in the upper rocker arm of the Maestro suspension, and by turning them, you change primarily the head and seat tube angles and bottom bracket height.
At just 2.75kg, it's Yamaha's lightest bike ever. Its torque is 85 Nm and in its strongest Power mode it adds 400% of the rider's electric power to 100% of the rider's power, which is four times more than the power exerted by the rider. In addition, you can adjust the boost value in each riding mode to your personal preference via the Giant RideControl smartphone app . This option gives you more freedom in the sense that you can set how the motor responds to your "input force", thus fine-tuning the behaviour of your e-bike.
Our view:
The SyncDrive Pro 2 is the most powerful motor for Giant and Liv e-bikes. What makes SyncDrive motors absolutely exceptional is the use of 6 sensors. Inclination detection and acceleration or deceleration (called accelerometer) are 2 sensors used only in SyncDrive powered by Yamaha motors. The result, in Smart Assist automatic mode, is a very smooth and natural ride with plenty of power for the situation and type of terrain. Of course, energy efficiency is also optimized for the rider and the battery itself. Using a modified version of the engine (there has been a substantial weight reduction of more than 20% as well as an increase in power of 5 Nm).
