Giro Eclipse Spherical is a unique aero helmet, suitable for competitive road cycling.
It combines the best of our technologies into a compact shape, where the outer shell actively channels air to reduce drag. This is aided by 14 ventilation openings that cool the head as effectively as helmets with more openings. Inside the helmet, we find the most important feature – Spherical Technology Powered by MIPS. The outer shell is made of a harder material, while the inner is made of a softer material, where the Progressive Layering technology assists.
The fit on the head is ensured by the patented Roc Loc 5 Air retention system. The helmet features reflective elements for increased safety, ultralight Slimline straps that you'll barely notice, and Ionic+ antibacterial padding.
Helmet sizing system. It's most easily identified by the simple and effective rear thumb-turn knob, which improved fit over the older two-button system and allowed Giro to reduce weight. Despite its minimalist design, the Roc Loc 5 is durable.
Spherical technology uses two separate inserts to help manage impact forces. The material and density of the inner and outer liner can be optimized with progressive layering to help handle a wide range of impact forces. When you combine the benefits of progressive layering with the market-leading MIPS® Brain Protection System, which helps redirect rotational motion away from the brain, you get more comprehensive protection.
EPS is expanded polystyrene. It is a strong and rigid material with a cellular structure, composed of 2% polystyrene and the rest is air.
