The Giro Register II MIPS is a modern children's cycling helmet that combines lightweight, high level of safety and an attractive design inspired by Giro's top road models. Thanks to the In-mold construction, the helmet is strong, durable, and at the same time very light – ideal for everyday riding.
The helmet is equipped with MIPS technology (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System), which helps reduce rotational forces during an oblique impact. This technology increases head protection and contributes to the greater safety of young cyclists.

Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
