The new GRADE is more comfortable, versatile, and adjustable than ever before. With a new look and purposeful redesign of the iconic Triple Triangle, the new GT Grade is designed for longer and faster rides on a wide range of surfaces.
"The GT brand enjoyed great success with the introduction of the original Grade model in 2015. GT was at the forefront of the emerging gravel bike scene, being the first to introduce a carbon frame model equipped with disc brakes, designed for riding on gravel paths," said Patrick Kaye, GT's product manager. "The increased performance and added adaptability align GT Grade with current trends."
The new GT Grade model features a completely redesigned Triple Triangle frame triangle, which, compared to the original model, has floating seat stays. This solution increases comfort during all-day rides over varied terrain due to greater vertical compliance.
The seat stays are made from a blend of lightweight carbon and glass fibers. The massive glass fiber core provides ruggedness and damping capabilities. The outer layer of carbon fibers increases stiffness. GT refers to this combination as Dual Fiber Dynamics. Riders experience a bike that enhances control and reduces fatigue.
For long journeys and endless adventures, the Grade is equipped with mounting points on the fork and frame. You can attach a small bag to the top tube, the fork has points for "anything cages," and the aluminum frames have bottle mounts even on the seat stays!
An important parameter is the tire clearance. Grade follows current trends, fitting wheels with 37mm tires, which is a good compromise for road and gravel rides. The bike can accommodate up to 42mm width for true off-road adventures.
Triple Triangle is the construction technology of GT bike frames. This small triangular shape in the frame reduces rear flex, increases wheel liveliness and minimizes vibration transfer. The seat tube has a double joint with the top frame tube, and the seat stays form a stiffer and smaller rear triangle rear structure that increases handling precision. The triple triangle also provides more tire room and better power transfer to the rear wheel.
