IBIS Ripley SL Eagle 90 Alloy Wheel mountain bike Gold Rush is a full-suspension XC/marathon MTB on 29" wheels, built around a carbon frame with 117 mm of rear travel. The spec is aimed at riders focused on pedaling efficiency, low component weight, and confidence on descents thanks to a 130 mm fork. The build sits in a higher performance tier with a modern 1x12 SRAM Eagle Transmission drivetrain and Fox Factory suspension.
At its core is the IBIS Ripley SL carbon frame designed for XC and marathon disciplines, with a suspension layout sized for 117 mm of rear travel. Up front, the frame is paired with a longer 130 mm fork, shifting its use from pure XC toward more technical courses without sacrificing climbing efficiency. The Cane Creek 50 IS41/IS52 headset matches the integrated standard used on modern frames for precise bearing fit and clean routing. .
The drivetrain is configured as a 1x12 SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission including shifter and rear derailleur, paired with the SRAM XS 1275 Eagle Transmission 10–52 cassette and a SRAM GX Eagle T-Type Flattop chain. The SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission DUB crankset uses a 30T chainring; crank lengths vary by frame size: 165 mm (S–M) or 170 mm (XM–XL), with a SRAM DUB BSA bottom bracket. Braking is handled by SRAM DB8 Stealth with SRAM HS2 6-Bolt 180/180 mm rotors, a solid choice for long descents and higher load. The wheelset is built around Ibis 933 Aluminum Rims and Blackbird Hubs; tires are 29x2.4 in a trail compound: Continental Magnotal Trail Soft up front and Continental Dubnital Trail Grip in the rear. The cockpit features a Blackbird 35 Aluminum Riser Bar 800 mm and a Blackbird 35 stem (S–M: 35 mm, XM–XL: 50 mm), with Lizard Skins Strata grips; the saddle is a WTB Silverado Fusion Ti 142 and the dropper post is a KS Vantage Dropper 31.6 mm (SM: 140 mm, MD–XM: 170 mm, L–XL: 210 mm).
The combination of 117 mm in the rear and 130 mm up front points to a setup tuned for fast XC pace, but with extra margin for rough descents and technical sections where the added front travel and high-volume 29x2.4 tires pay off. The SRAM Eagle Transmission drivetrain with a 10–52 range supports cadence on steep climbs without the need for a front derailleur, while the stable 180/180 mm braking setup increases control during prolonged braking. Ibis 933 aluminum rims and trail-focused tires (Magnotal/Dubnital) lean more toward durability and grip than an ultra-light race-only configuration.
This Ripley SL is built for experienced riders who want a carbon XC/marathon full-suspension MTB with a modern Transmission drivetrain and components capable of handling more technical trails as well. It makes sense for both racing and sporty riding if you prefer one bike for fast laps, marathons, and frequent time on terrain where you’ll appreciate a 130 mm fork and 2.4" tires.
