Ibis Ripley SL XT Di2 Carbon Wheel mountain bike Gold Rush is a full-suspension 29" MTB focused on XC and marathon racing, with 117 mm of rear travel and a more trail-oriented 130 mm fork. Shimano XT Di2 1x12 spec and four-piston brakes are aimed at experienced riders who care about both pedaling efficiency and control in technical sections. This is a performance build where low component weight, precise electronic shifting, and a race-capable suspension setup are expected.
The foundation is the Ibis Ripley SL carbon frame with 117 mm of rear travel, designed for modern XC/marathon use with extra margin for technical terrain. The suspension kinematics are tuned for efficient power transfer while pedaling, while still delivering a sensitive feel with the Fox Factory Float SL 210x50 mm shock. The bike is built around a 29" platform, which makes sense for speed on the flats and traction on climbs.
The drivetrain is Shimano XT Di2 1x12 with a Shimano XT Di2 Shift Switch and a Shimano XT Di2 SGS rear derailleur; gear range is covered by the Shimano XT 10–51T cassette. Cranks are Shimano XT M8200 with a 30T chainring (165 mm for S–M and 170 mm for XM–XL); the bottom bracket and chain are also from the XT line. Braking is handled by Shimano XT M8220 4-piston brakes with Shimano RT-86 IceTech 180/180 mm rotors, a setup suitable for longer descents and higher load. The wheelset uses Ibis S28 Carbon rims on Industry 9 Hydra hubs, fitted with Continental Magnotal 29x2.4 Trail Soft up front and Continental Dubnital 29x2.4 Trail Grip in the rear. The cockpit consists of a Blackbird 35 Carbon Riser Bar 800 mm and a Blackbird 35 Stem (35 mm for S–M, 50 mm for XM–XL), complemented by Lizard Skins Strata grips; the saddle is a WTB Silverado Fusion Ti 142 and the dropper post is a BikeYoke Revive 31.6 in lengths depending on size.
The combination of 117 mm in the rear and a Fox Factory 34SL Grip SL 130 mm up front moves the Ripley SL into the fast XC/trail category: on steep climbs, the 29" platform and the wide 10–51T cassette range help, while in technical terrain the added front travel provides confidence in rough conditions. The four-piston XT brakes with 180 mm rotors support consistent performance under repeated braking, which matters on marathon courses with longer descents. Wider 800 mm carbon handlebars and a shorter stem (depending on size) help with more precise line choice at higher speeds and through tight corners.
This build is for advanced to race-focused riders who want a XC/marathon full-suspension 29" MTB with electronic shifting and components sized for more technical courses as well. Compared to pure race XC machines with a shorter fork, it offers more control on descents thanks to the 130 mm front end, while still maintaining an efficient character suited to long climbs.
