The new downhill tire from Maxxis named Assegai was developed with significant contributions from downhill legend Greg Minnaar. This version is a lighter model for enduro bikes.
The tire tread is based in the center on a combination of proven Minion DHR II and DHF patterns, where the DHF rolls well and provides confidence on hard surfaces, in corners, on wet roots and rocks, while the DHR II adds speed and aggressiveness when braking.
The design of the side knobs was inspired by another popular tire, the High Roller. To all this, add the Wide Trail construction for wide rims, the tubeless-ready capability, double sidewall reinforcement, the soft compound 3C Maxx Terra, and you have an excellent enduro tire.
