Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5x2.50" WT 3CG DD, TR kevlar tire

Description

The Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5x2.50" tire gives you confidence when the trail drops into a steep descent and you’re hard on the brakes. In corners, it holds its line even as the surface shifts from dirt to roots and rocks.

Main benefits

The side knobs borrowed from the Minion DHF are widened, so when leaned over they provide support and predictable line control. That makes it easier to corner smoothly with less wrestling of the bike.

The center tread has ramped leading edges that help with acceleration and keep rolling resistance reasonable. Fine siping smooths the transition as you lean the bike and increases control on changing terrain.

Paddle-shaped center knobs bite into the ground under hard braking and help maintain stability. On steep, wet sections, you’ll appreciate the 3C MaxxGrip compound, which boosts traction on rock and roots.

The Double Down (DD) casing is aimed at enduro and downhill riding, where the tire takes a beating from edges and hard landings. For balanced trail performance, it’s often paired with a Minion DHF on the front wheel.

Technical specifications

The tire size is 27.5x2.50" for broad trail use.

The ETRTO size is 63-584 for precise seating on the rim.

The casing has a 120 x 2 TPI thread count for durability and a sensitive feel over the ground.

It features a tubeless Tubeless Ready (TR) design with a black Kevlar folding bead.

Conclusion

The Maxxis Minion DHR II is a rear tire for riders who want support when leaned over and confidence under braking on steep descents. Its width and Wide Trail profile are designed for modern rims and a stable tire shape.

When the track is wet, rough, and fast, the 3C MaxxGrip compound delivers grip you’ll feel in the very first corner. Thanks to the reinforced DD casing, you can focus on your line instead of worrying about durability.

The tire is also suitable for e-bike use, where reliable traction and durability are needed. Overall, it’s a well-balanced foundation for aggressive trail, enduro, and downhill riding.
