With the Maxxis Minion DHR II, the rear wheel bites into the trail with a confidence that keeps your head calm even on steep sections. It holds its line when leaned over and remains surprisingly predictable under braking.
This tire is designed for rear-wheel use, where it supports control on descents and confidence during hard braking. The center tread rolls willingly while pedaling, but “bites” into the ground when you get on the brakes.
The side knobs are based on the proven Minion lineup and are widened for better support in corners. The transition between the center and side is smooth, so the bike doesn’t feel twitchy when you lean it over.
The MaxxTerra compound is aimed at mixed conditions where dry, dusty trails alternate with damp soil. It offers balanced grip and reasonable longevity, making it a great fit for trail and enduro.
The DD casing adds durability for rougher use, higher speeds, and rocky sections. Combined with a tubeless-ready design, it helps keep pressure more stable and reduces the risk of pinch flats.
The tire size is 27.5x2.40 inches for modern mountain bikes. The ETRTO size is 61-584.
The casing construction has a 120x2 TPI density for a stronger, more responsive ride feel. The tire bead is Kevlar, so it’s foldable.
TR technology means a tubeless-ready design for use with sealant. DD technology reinforces the sidewalls for enduro use.
The recommended tire pressure is 50 PSI depending on riding style and terrain. The tire weight is 1,209 g in black.
Maxxis Minion DHR II MaxxTerra/DD/TR 27.5x2.40 is an MTB tire focused primarily on rear-wheel traction and control. It’s well suited for riders who want predictable cornering grip and more confident braking. Thanks to the combination of DD, TR, and the MaxxTerra compound, it works well for trail and enduro rides in changeable conditions.
